REPORT OF RESEARCH ACTIVITIES ON THE AFFECTIVITY OF AYURVEDIC MEDICINE IN CHEMO TOXICITY

Helping package to the cancer patients undergoing CT from DARF through Ayurveda.

Everybody working in the field of cancer cure is well known to the deadly cytotoxic chemotheraputic agents. It is loosely spoken that,  “The treatment is more dangerous than the diseases.” The success rate of chemotherapy in cancer is always debatable in most instances, but its side effects have no doubt.

Leukopenia, mucolities, hair loss and phlebitis are four common inevitable side effects of all effective or non-effective chemotherapy.

Ayurvedic DARF therapy is a blessing for all these patients who are suffering from chemotoxicity.

a.       Pre-chemotherapy 3 days package with DARF'S Ayurvedic medicine, Panchkarma, Snehan and Matra-Basti etc. are administered to prevent the side effects to its maximum.

b.      During chemotherapy fresh coriander juice with specific Ayurvedic DARF'S medicines and continued Matra-Basti is administered concurrently.

c.       Post chemotherapy some strong Ayurvedic antacids, emollients, anti-inflammatory,  and blood coolants are administered.

This integrated approach has been observed extremely helpful to the patients who undergo CT.

The results are not only encouraging but DARF is now enjoying a special repute for this treatment all over the world.

BASE LINE DARF THERAPY FOR HELPING CANCER PATIENTS GOING UNDER CHEMOTHERAPY.

1.        A group of drugs administered prior to CT for 3 days to tone up, regularized and strengthen the GI tract to reduce the possible mucolitis. These all are “Rasayana”drugs popularly known as Ayurvedic anti oxidants.

2.        The Matra-Basti is the second group of drugs and therapy applied through the anus to double the effect i.e mouth and anus.

3.        During CT the third group comprising strong antacids, emollients, and blood coolants to combat the possible stometitis, gastritis and phlebitis. The fresh coriander juice is the cup of tea for all cancer patients on going chemotherapy.

4.        Again the group-1 medicine, Matra-Basti and Snehan therapy are introduced after the CT is completed. These groups of drugs are the same as NO.1 that is “Rasayna” and “Matra-Basti”.

In addition to this Vardhman Matra prayog in to (Steroidal pattern dose therapy), of certain Ayurvedic drugs along with Ghee is administered. This treatment has been observed to restore the leukocyte count, hemoglobin, and such other important perimeters.

5.        In a nutshell all above four groups of drugs help the patient maintain his optimum health without disturbance of CT. It is interesting to note at this juncture that the interaction of chemotheraputic agent and Ayurvedic medicine is still to be explored and much more inter disciplinary research is going on.
